# Limits, entitlements and costs

Read Rochat limits and costs correctly: tokens, characters, points, work eligibility and action-specific resource prompts.

Use the current editor or confirmation screen to check the limit or cost for the action you are taking. This reference explains the units and conditions so that a number from one feature is not mistaken for a promise about another.

## Know what is being counted

| Unit or condition                | Applies to                                             | Do not confuse it with                                      |

| Tokens                           | Some prompt and Persona budgets                        | Characters, words or the model's full conversation context. |
| Characters                       | Text fields whose counters explicitly count characters | Tokens in another field.                                    |
| Interaction Points               | Requests that show a points charge                     | Membership duration or World creation keys.                 |
| Number of attachments or entries | Lorebook and work structure limits                     | How much knowledge is included in every reply.              |
| Gold eligibility                 | Capabilities of a work                                 | Membership on its creator's account.                        |
| Energy or item requirement       | A specific World action                                | Whether a saved World exists.                               |

A character count is not a token count. Use the counter in your current editor if your platform or version differs.

## Where to check a value

* **Persona:** use its description counter and the limit shown for the current account.
* **Character or Scene:** check the editor budget and any Gold upgrade notice for that work.
* **Memory:** use the counter for the specific note or summary you are editing. An automatically produced summary and a manual editor can have different constraints.
* **Lorebook:** check the book, entry, trigger and attachment controls separately. Reaching one limit does not mean the others are full.
* **Models and images:** read the selected option's access and charge notice before generating or regenerating.
* **World:** inspect the creation, unlock, interaction and refill prompts at the step where each applies.
* **Purchases:** confirm the checkout currency, amount, duration and renewal terms for your platform and region.

## If a limit seems wrong

Record the exact field, counter, error and account entitlement. Note whether you changed platform, model or work. Copy a version of your text locally before shortening it, then remove repetition and retry within the displayed limit.

For a cost discrepancy, retain the receipt or transaction details and the time of the action. Do not repeat purchases or paid generations merely to test the issue. [Get official Rochat support](https://book.rochat.ai/rochat_book_en/about-rochat/faq) lists the information to send to support.

A field editing limit is not the same as a model context limit, and access to one feature does not establish access to another.
